At Choukran, we bring the bled to France. Not the postcard bled. Not the bled frozen in the past. The real bled. The one of great tablées, recipes passed down from generation to generation, spices that perfume the whole house and meals that start at noon and end much later than planned.
Choukran was born from a simple desire: to share Moroccan cuisine as we love it. Generous, convivial, popular and deeply rooted in the culture of sharing.
For our chef Abdel Alaoui, it all starts in the family kitchen. His mother's. The one where you learn recipes by watching, tasting and reproducing the gestures. The one where quantities are rarely measured and love is always the main ingredient. Today, these memories still inspire each of our recipes.
At Choukran, Friday couscous meets the energy of the city. Kémias are shared in the middle of the table. Sandwiches take on Moroccan street-food accents. Tagines simmer gently. Spices travel. And bread always ends up in the sauce.
Our cuisine is 100% homemade, prepared every day with fresh products and a lot of expertise. We revisit the classics of Moroccan heritage with a modern approach, without ever losing what defines them: generosity.
But Choukran is not just what's on the plate. It's also an atmosphere. A blend of Paris, Casablanca, Marrakech and the bled.
Hand-crafted zellige. Carved wood. Artisanal lighting. Raw materials. Warm colours. Objects found here and there in Morocco. Every detail tells a story and pays tribute to the artisans who keep this heritage alive.
We have imagined living, warm and accessible spaces. Restaurants where you come for lunch with colleagues, dinner with friends, share a couscous with family or simply drink a mint tea after a long day.
We call it beldi-trendy. A way of living tradition without freezing it. A way of celebrating Morocco without clichés. A way of bringing together at the same table those who know the bled by heart and those discovering it for the first time.
At Choukran, everyone is welcome. So sit down, order a few sharing plates, pass the bread, tell your stories and enjoy the moment.
The rest, we'll take care of.
Choukran.
